Lake District fly fishing is available on some fantastic venues. Lakes and rivers throughout the region provide fly fishing for good stocks of wild brown trout and grayling.
Lakes throughout the Lake District National park offer the visiting angler the opportunity to fish amidst some stunning scenery. Based in the eastern lakes, I have an intimate knowledge of these waters. Boat and bank fishing is available on Ullswater (above) and bank fishing on Haweswater reservoir. Both venues hold good stocks of wild brown trout.
There is also some excellent river fishing available in the region, where guided fly fishing and tuition is available. The River Eden (above) in the beautiful Eden Valley is famed for it’s trout and grayling fishing. The River Eamont, which flows out of Ullswater, is Eden’s main tributary. It is a beautiful river and contains good stocks wild brown trout. Another great river in the region is the River Lowther in the Lowther Valley. A river for the dry fly oficionado, the Lowther can be quite challenging. Those that hit this venue when the fish are rising can be rewarded with some excellent trout.
Apart from the three main rivers in our region, we also have a good number of smaller streams and rivers. The small stream enthusiast can enjoy the challenge of more intimate tree-lined waters that hold good numbers of wild brown trout.
